We have defended and will defend: the whispers of the bastion walls

The museum is located in an authentic part of the Vilnius Defence Wall – the Bastion. Both the Vilnius Defence wall and the Bastion have many stories to tell – after all, the Defence Wall was built with the hands of the citizens themselves. Over 500 years ago, the people of Vilnius united for a common goal – to protect their beloved city and their homes.

Today, the Bastion also tells the story of the importance of a person ready to defend their homeland and loved ones. This is reflected in the history of the Bastion itself and in the permanent exhibition “From Flint to Gunpowder”, which showcases the evolution of weaponry through the centuries: how they changed and how the technology behind their production advanced.

The tour is curated for adults.
