The guests of the cultural exchange festival “Gdansk in Vilnius 2025” are the post-jazz and psychedelic rock quartet NENE HEROINE from Gdansk – one of the most interesting phenomena of contemporary Polish jazz, whose work combines analog sounds, post-rock structures, dub rhythms and improvisational freedom. Each performance of the band is a unique experience that changes depending on the place, mood and audience.
The members of the band, who do not accept the rules and use jazz only as a basis for their sound – saxophonist Peter Stanley Chester, guitarist Michael Zismann, bassist Tony Sadeky and drummer Stan Corazon – create music that invites the listener to immerse themselves in a lively and unpredictable sonic kaleidoscope.
After the success of their critically acclaimed debut album “Total Panorama” (Alpaka Records) in 2022, they released “Mova”, a more ambitious, atmospheric studio work that not only showcases a fusion of genres but also emotional maturity, and in 2024, the band released the critically acclaimed live video album “In Three Colors”, recorded with popular artists Kasia Lins and Jan Tymoteusz (Szczyl).
NENE HEROINE, who are just starting their international expansion, performed at many great events in Poland last year, most notably at the most prestigious Polish alternative music festival, OFF Festival. Excellent reviews from the press and festival participants, as well as the well-deserved KMAG magazine award (MOSKITY 2023) in the music category, helped NENE HEROINE establish themselves as one of the strongest jazz groups of the new generation.
Now they are preparing to conquer international stages, and Vilnius is one of the stops on their map.
