Balta Balta Balta studio-gallery invites you to meet the artist, jeweller – Rasa Jundulaitė on April 25, 3 pm.
“I think in objects, shapes, textures. I use a lot of raw materials from the environment, because what you can buy at is not interesting. I am fascinated by small things, details, processes, consciousness, symbols and fairy tales, my life is full of small miracles”. These miracles discovered by the artist are embodied in her jewellery, which is not only aesthetically pleasing, but also deeply meaningful objects that invite you to communicate, to unlock the artist’s thought, to reflect on a message encoded in a meaningful expression. You can find out about this and how the conceptual designer’s work creates or re-creates the “ready-made” elements directly from the author’s lips !
Rasa Jundulaitė studied art both in Lithuania and abroad, obtaining her BA from Gerrit Rietveld Academy in Amsterdam, her BA and MA from Vilnius Academy of Arts. She is an active participant in international jewellery exhibitions at and has won several awards. According to Saulės Mažeikaitė, Rasa is “an artist with broad interests and intentions, seeking connections between jewellery, textiles and other fields of art. Paradoxical manipulations, witty banter or irony with a serious face, questioning the standards of thinking in every exhibition, are the artist’s “horse”.
The exhibition and the meeting are part of the project Lithuanian Designers: AUTHOR’S DAY
Organiser: BALTA BALTA
The project is funded by the Lithuanian Council for Culture
