Nature’s Charms (Gamtos kerai) | Ceramic Jewelry Exhibition

The Baltic Amber Art Center Gallery presents an exhibition of jewelry by artist Svetlana Gregorjeva “Nature’s Charms” (“Gamtos kerai”). The collection of jewelry on display embodies the breath of the primeval forest. Objects found in mysterious places in the wild: stones smoothed by the wind, cracked tree bark, moss, unite the entire exhibition into a single monologue. The jewelry presented by the author does not strive for perfect forms; the random patterns of the jewelry reflect the unexpectedness and unpredictability of nature.

The series of ceramic jewelry was created using an ancient technique of leaven ceramics. Jewelry created using this technique is unique, with distinctive patterns, textures, and colors. These aesthetic elements bring the jewelry closer to the spontaneous manifestations of wild nature.

The highlight of the exhibition is jewelry with amber. According to the artist, the amber details are like drops of sap frozen in fragments of jewelry, naturally falling into the carved bark or cracks in the stone. Observing the amber illuminated by sunlight, you find yourself in a mesmerising microcosm of frozen sap, full of magical beauty and tranquillity.

The jewelry presented in the exhibition are not just accessories; they can be called talismans that protect against darkness and provide true natural wisdom and strength.

Svetlana Grigorjeva is a graduate of the Ceramics Department at the Vilnius Academy of Arts. The artist’s passion is leaven ceramics. She also creates sculptures from recycled paper and experiments with abstraction, painting gestural sketches. She participates in local and international exhibitions. The artist likes to experiment and search for new creative ways to express her fascination with what she encounters on her path.
