Aron Kravitz lives and works in Tel Aviv. He lives in constant dialogue with the city, absorbing its atmosphere, observing it and trying to understand the inner workings of its structure, which (among other signs) are expressed through the rhythm of visual lines. In Aron’s view, the city can be compared to the lines of a seismograph, which are unstable, unsynchronized, reflecting the change inherent in our existence, and can even predict profound changes that are not yet comprehensible. Nevertheless, the dynamic nature of color does not change its characteristics, conveying the essence of any object: a house, a street, a person, or the city itself.
In his works, the artist seeks to combine the fragility of lines and the uninterrupted presence of color.
“Perhaps my perception of objects and their relationship with space was influenced by my work as a painter and decorator… I use mixed techniques, combining collage, impasto painting, marker, oil and acrylic pain with drawings on canvas, cardboard or paper,” says the artist.
Aron Kravitz dedicated a series of works entitled “Bauhaus” to Tel Aviv’s architecture and created a series entitled “Immersed”, in which people become part of the space and their inner processes are inseparable from the changes taking place in their surroundings.
“In this case, the setting is not necessarily Tel Aviv, but the same rules of colour, line, and object relationships still apply. I explore this theme by trying to understand and perceive their interconnections using methods I have discovered,” says the author.
