On 18 April, at 6 p.m., Vilnius Adomas Mickevičius Public Library, the Great Hall, will host a free concert by the Austrian singer Avin Ahmadi.
Avin Ahmadi is a composer and performer who is able to travel between different musical worlds and traditions. Avin Ahmadi’s music tells stories from distant lands and invites you to take a journey through them. Born in Tehran, Iran, the Vienna-based musician uses her work to paint images in the minds of her audience. She creates melodies that captivate, awaken the imagination and invites one to dream. What she conveys with her oud and her voice are traditional Iranian music improvisations and distinctive jazz fusion compositions that intertwine and speak to each other with a unique musical voice. Avin Ahmadi’s music is profound, moving and touches the soul.
The singer’s companion in concerts is the old instrument, the oud. The oud is a Middle Eastern chordophone, the forerunner of the lute known in Europe.
In this concert in Vilnius, Avin Ahmadi will perform her solo project ‘Qayeq’. The concert will feature a variety of compositions: both traditional Persian songs and jazz fusion improvisations. We invite you to come to the concert and experience a unique musical journey with Avin Ahmadi’s voice and the sounds of the oud.
The entrance is free, you are welcome!
