On 25 April, the Great Hall of the Lithuanian National Drama Theatre will host an extraordinary concert by the songwriter and performer Alina Orlova, who will present her latest album, which contains a lot of Alina’s own self-reflection and the introspection inherent in her music. “Sonically, the album will be quite varied, maybe even a bit eclectic. Lots of poetry, sensitivity to sound, mystery and atmosphere”, says A. Orlova.
A couple of the latest songs – “Veidrodėli” and “Iš kur?” – have already reached the ears and hearts of listeners. There is a lot of gentle nostalgia in the songs. “I feel it for all sorts of things that aren’t there – places and times I’ve never been to, maybe even people I’ve never met. There is a lot of longing in music in general, and this feeling is one of the main impulses in my work. In my songs I try to create a kind of a new world, a lot of things come from somewhere, maybe from the subconscious, from feelings and fragments of observations of life”, – says the author.
The theatre stage chosen for the concert evokes admiration for A. Orlova, the mystery of the theatre is associated with a magic chest, so in such a special space the singer will strive to create and experience a musical dream-spectacle together with the audience. “Other musicians will join in, with a variety of instruments – flute, cello, double bass. I want playfulness and fairy tales. I believe it will be beautiful”, says A. Orlova about the album presentation concert.
